While many know the Parker Center (originally the Police Facilities Building, 1955) from the hit 1950s television police drama "Dragnet," this building has a deeper and sometimes controversial history. The City of L.A., through its Bureau of Engineering, is pressing for a redevelopment project that will demolish and replace Parker Center. At this panel discussion, you’ll hear about the viable preservation alternatives, and learn why it’s important from a historic and cultural perspective to preserve this building. A reception with light refreshments will follow the panel.
