In a recent story, BBC News magazine offered a comparison of what university dorms and students looked liked in the 1890s (picture is provided) at Royal Holloway University. According to the piece, it gives a rare insight into Victorian accommodation.

Everything has changed since then. Among the findings of the 1890s photos, crocodile skins seemed to be prominent. Nowadays, technology almost reigns supreme as dorm rooms are almost fully equipped with a variety of electronics, such as computers, phones and iPads.
