This week, the Los Angeles Architecture and Design Museum launched a new exhibit to show designs and plans that were created in the past for the city of L.A. but were never actually rendered. The show is aimed to answer the question, “Why is Los Angeles a hotbed of great architects, yet so lacking in urban innovation?”

The exhibit is based on a large floor plan of L.A. and uses maps, drawings and mixed media to show potential projects that never got their chance to exist. Check out what could have been now through Oct. 13.
