It’s a son jarocho summit! Conjunto Jardín, the L.A.-based ensemble dedicated to the music of Veracruz, is bringing two masters representing different styles of the genre from Mexico to help mark the group’s 15th anniversary. Alberto de la Rosa, master of the classic upbeat sound that took the world by storm in the 50s, and Don Fallo Figueroa & Son Candela, who add contemporary flash to the rural tradition, played together for the first time at a chance meeting in L.A. last year and the concept of Conjunto Jardín’s Ford musical extravaganza was born. Also joining Jardín are Tierra Blanca Dance Company, guitarist Ciro Hurtado of Huayucaltia and Veracruzano poet Rafael Figueroa as emcee. More Information >>
