Psychedelic and Beyond

With works from twelve artists spanning 5 decades, this exhibition includes a collection of original and print artworks. The spirit and complexion of psychedelic and visionary art is universal. As the world witnessed a Haight-Asbury culmination of sorts in the late 1960s, it came to represent a transitionary time period of American History that is unique, alluring and frequently revisited by recent generations. This American cocktail of Civil Rights, war, love and drugs created a culture that reverbs today. What happened when the Summer of Love turned to smack? What exactly does Downtown Los Angeles do about Skid Row? Some would comment, “Sucks Either Way.” In Psychedelic and Beyond, the answer is the journey of self-awareness and transformation through experience.
