What’s Happening in Los Angeles

Hee Haw Hell @
Bigfoot Lodge
At Hee Haw Hell at Bigfoot Lodge, it’s going
to be a champagne jam of music, garage, ‘60s soul, and rockabilly
served by DJs Smokey P and Mason. With some rather absurd vintage film
clips being projected on the walls, it will only heighten your already
saucy mood. And why the saucy mood you ask? Well that’s because
of the $2 PBR and $3 whiskey shots. For some it won’t be a
champagne but a jam no less with a capital j. Bigfoot Lodge is located
at 3172 Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Angeles. For more information visit www.bigfootlodge.com

Happy Feet Holiday Snowglobes @ The Beverly Center
Penguins have taken over the world! Last year we
witnessed their march, and now during this holiday season we will
embrace their feet. The new Warner Brothers film, Happy Feet looks to be an ice cap
adventure and in conjunction with this new film the Beverly Center
looks to bring that winter wonderland to that hallowed mall. Patrons
will be able to walk through a 20 ft. snow globe, which will feature
scenes from the movie. Family and friends will also be part of the
whole act, as you can take a “green screen” experiences
with the penguin crew. Hope you know how to tap dance. The Beverly
Center is located at 8500 Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles. For more
information visit www.beverlycenter.com

From Heart To Hand: Modern Japanese Prints
Over 15 modern prints dating back to the post war
era are being displayed at the Pacific Asia Museum. Depicting the
different type of styles and movements of modern Japanese art, this
exhibit will also showcase the earlier works of the Sosaku Hanga, or
Japanese Print Movement. Specific works shown in that part of the
collection will show the origins and motivations behind the modern
print movement. Pacific Asia Museum is located at 46 North Los Robles
Avenue in Pasadena. For more information visit www.pacificasiamuseum.org.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Chicago Bulls @ Staples Center
It’s still early in the NBA season but our
Los Angeles Lakers will face a mighty test Sunday night against the
Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are now revamped due in part by the
acquisition of former Detroit Piston Ben Wallace. But come on now,
it’s the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant is still getting his
legs under him but as he continues to dish and feed the ball to his
teammates, it only helps the team even more. And like their new arena
slogan states, the Lakers look to turn out the lights against the
Bulls. Staples Center is located at 1111 South Figueroa Street in Los
Angeles. For more information visit www.lakers.com.

The Rapture @ Henry
Fonda Theater
Out of all the post punk dance funk hybrids that
have come out of the past few years, The Rapture have to be band that
gets the most hype. But it’s all about the music man…and in
this case for The Rapture it’s all about the cowbell. During
Monday’s set, you and everyone else will be amazed by the cowbell
prowess of Gabriel Andruzzi. And they only way to cure that cowbell
fervor is to just dance, dance, and dance. Plus with the band most
likely playing a lot of tunes from their new album Pieces of the People
We Love, that whole predicament will be solved immediately. Tickets are
available via www.ticketmaster.com. Henry Fonda Theater is located at
6126 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. For more information visit www.henryfondatheater.com.

Disney’s The Lion King: National Tour @ Pantages Theatre
The circle of entertainment is complete. The movie
enthralled the child in us. The soundtrack made us weep as we wondered
if we could feel the love tonight. And now The Lion King will astound
us on the stage. The show is a visual spectacle with masks,
costumes, and puppets galore. And don’t take this writer’s
word for it, the proof is all the accolades. It’s the winner of
six Tony Awards including Best Musical. You owe it yourself to see it.
Pantages Theatre is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
