Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") explains the information that Campus Circle collects on www.campuscircle.net (the "Site"), how Campus Circle uses your information collected at the Site and your choices related to Campus Circle's data collection practices on the Site. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Please also read Campus Circle’s Terms and Conditions, which governs your use of the Site. Your use of the Site indicates to Campus Circle that you have read and accept Campus Circle’s privacy practices, as outlined in this Privacy Policy. Please note that this Privacy Policy only covers information collection practices on the Site and does not cover any information collected offline by Campus Circle or at any other web site.

INFORMATION COLLECTED

We may ask you to provide us with personally identifiable information, which is information that could reasonably be used to identify you personally (such as your name, address, e-mail address and telephone) when you register with us or at other times, such as if you choose to:

Campus Circle may also ask you to provide us with demographic information or information regarding your interests, hobbies, sex, marital status, level of education, salary or similar information. In addition, as part of Campus Circle’s current and planned services, Campus Circle may, at any time, add features to the Site that require you to register or otherwise provide personally identifiable information, including credit card information, or Campus Circle may require registration or a subscription fee to gain access to any portion of the Site. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in some or all of the Site’s features.

We may also receive information about you from other sources, such as in connection with a promotion that the Site is participating in that is offered on a third party web site or from companies that share information about their customers with third parties. In each of these cases, we will apply this Privacy Policy to any personally identifiable information received. We may combine the information about you that we collect at this Web Site with information we receive from other sources.

In addition to the above, when you visit or download information from this Site, our web servers may automatically collect web site usage information. Web site usage information is non-personally identifiable information that describes how our visitors use and navigate this Site. It can include the number and frequency of visitors to each web page and the length of their stays, browser type, referrer data that identifies the web page visited prior and subsequent to visiting the Site, and IP address (see below for more information on IP addresses). We may determine the applicable technology available in order to serve you the most appropriate version of a web page, e-mail or similar service.

CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE

The Site is not a web site directed to children under the age of 13, and Campus Circle does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If Campus Circle discovers that a child under the age of 13 has provided Campus Circle with personally identifiable information, Campus Circle will delete that child’s personally identifiable information from its system.

USE OF COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies are pieces of information that a web site either transfers to your computer’s hard drive or stores temporarily in your computer’s memory for record-keeping purposes. We may use cookies for a number of purposes, such as tracking usage patterns on the Site, measuring the effectiveness of advertising, limiting multiple responses and registrations when we conduct polls and sweepstakes, facilitating the transmission of a communication, customizing your experience on the Site, facilitating your ability to navigate the Site and as part of a verification or screening process. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent by indicating this in the preferences or options menu in your browser. However, it is possible that some parts of this Web Site will not operate correctly if you disable cookies and you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in certain features of this Site. You should consult with your browser’s provider/manufacturer if you have any questions regarding disabling cookies.

This Site’s pages or e-mail messages may contain a small graphic image called a web beacon (also know as a web bug or clear gif) that allows the party that set the web beacon to monitor and collect certain information about the viewer of the web page, web-based document or e-mail message, such as the type of browser requesting the web beacon, the IP address of the computer that the web beacon is sent to and the time the web beacon was viewed. Web beacons can be very small and invisible to the user, but, in general, any electronic image viewed as part of a web page or e-mail, including HTML based content, can act as a web beacon. Campus Circle may use web beacons to count visitors to the web pages on the Site or to monitor how our users navigate the Site, and we may include web beacons in e-mail messages in order to count how many messages sent were actually opened or acted upon. Campus Circle may use web beacons to compile aggregate statistics about the Site and its marketing campaigns. Campus Circle does not have control over web beacons used by third parties and does not have access to whatever information they may collect.

USE OF INTERNET PROTOCOL ("IP") ADDRESSES

An IP address is a number that’s automatically assigned to your computer or network when you are on the internet. When you request pages from this Site, Campus Circle’s servers log your IP address. Campus Circle may use IP addresses for a number of purposes, such as system administration, to report aggregate information to our business partners or to audit the use of the Site. Campus Circle may associate your IP address with the personally identifiable information you provide. Campus Circle may also use IP addresses in cooperation with internet service providers or law enforcement agencies to identify users if Campus Circle deems it necessary to comply with law, to enforce compliance with its Privacy Policy or this Site’s Terms of Use, or to protect the Site or its users.

Use and Disclosure of Information Collected at the Site

Use

Campus Circle may use your personally identifiable information:

If you provide us with personally identifiable information of a friend, or your friend provides personally identifiable information about you, to e-mail an article, electronic greeting card or other special feature from the Site, the e-mail addresses you or your friend supply us for those activities will not be used to send you or your friend other e-mail communications unless otherwise disclosed at the time you provide such information.

Please note that information submitted to the Web Site via a “contact us,” “help” or other similar e-mail address or form will not necessarily receive a response. We will not use the information provided to these e-mail addresses or forms for marketing purposes unrelated to your request.

DISCLOSURE/SHARING

Personally identifiable information collected by Campus Circle is not shared with third parties for any purpose except for the limited circumstances stated below:

Campus Circle may also disclose non-personally identifying, aggregated user statistics to third parties for several reasons, including, without limitation, obtaining advertisers and describing Campus Circle and the Site to third parties.

LINKS

While on the Site or viewing an e-mail or other content provided by Campus Circle or the Site, you may encounter links to other web sites or online materials operated by third parties. If you "click" on a link to such a third party, the "click" takes you off the Site and to a third party’s web site, which is beyond Campus Circle’s control. These other web sites may set their own cookies (there is information above about cookies), collect data or have their own privacy policies and practices. As noted above, this Privacy Policy only covers information collected by Campus Circle on this Site, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any other web site you visit. Links to any third party web site or content do not constitute or imply an endorsement or recommendation by Campus Circle of the linked web site or content.

PUBLIC FORUMS (including Chat Rooms and Bulletin Boards)

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you may disclose publicly in user forums (such as blogs, chat rooms, bulletin boards, or similar web pages). You should keep in mind that whenever you publicly disclose information about yourself online, that information could be collected and used by people that you do not know. You should exercise discretion when using these user forums. In addition, certain message boards (and similar user forums) may display IP addresses (there is information above about IP addresses) along with the message poster’s name and message. In some instances, you may choose to create a public profile that will be available to others. You are solely responsible for your public profile’s content. Campus Circle bears no responsibility for any action or policies of any third parties who collect any information that visitors may disclose in user forums or other public areas, if any, on the Site. If you are asked to create a user name, we recommend not using your real name or other information that can be used to identify you. In addition, do not use the real name of another person when selecting a user name. Campus Circle does not endorse the content in any user forums.

Please note, we may institute a policy in which user information is deleted after a certain amount of time, and therefore, your user account information may no longer exist in Campus Circle’s active database(s). In addition, even if you choose to unsubscribe or otherwise modify your user account settings, Campus Circle reserves the right to contact you regarding your account status, technical support, product information, changes to account terms, and any other matter that might affect this Site.

If you agree to receive communications from a third party, your information will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy. Therefore, if you later decide that you do not want that third party to use your information, you will need to contact the third party directly.

SECURITY

Campus Circle stores the information we collect from you on limited access servers, and Campus Circle takes steps to maintain the security of Campus Circle’s servers and to protect your personally identifiable information from unauthorized disclosure. However, no data transmission over the Internet or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Campus Circle cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Campus Circle and you do so at your own risk.
