Film:
A Somewhat Gentle Man
:
A Somewhat Gentle Man is an excellent film from Norway-- well deserving an A and not the B- the reviewer gave it. AND the facts were wrong. The lead character who gets out of prison didn't kill his WIFE! He killed a gangster who he caught in bed with his wife. (a.k.a. crime of passion) After he's out of prison he screws his now ex-wife in the backroom of the diner where she works. The guy is a classic anti-hero-- and IS a somewhat gentle man. The guy who finally gets killed in the end, is the no-good bum who got him mixed up with criminal types and messed up his life. It's a black comedy-- that doesn't in the least "sugar coat" gangster activity or trivialize crime. I think the reviewer was asleep or was texting-- This film has gotten excellent critical notice and festival audiences loved it. I saw it at the Scandinavian Film Festival at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills. It was a big hit with the (NOT all Scandi) audience. www.sffla.net

The Rite LA Film Screening

Okay, so first, I just want to thank you all for giving us the passes to go see movies (it is greatly appreciated) The movie...okay, when I tell you I'm not one for scary movies AT ALL, NOT AT ALL...lol I really really loved this movie (more so the message of the movie...lol) Even though I was scared throughout the entire movie, it was really GREAT...The message of the movie was dead on. It took me on a journey and I felt invested in the movie. Kudos to everyone who was apart of it...

I saw "The Rite" the other day. Anthony Hopkins' acting was good, although I was expecting the movie to be more scary than it actually was. Albeit, I still enjoyed the movie, and I recommend seeing it.

I like this movie. I didn't think I would. My wife was scared shitless. She had multiple thoughts about walking out because she was so scared. Anthony Hopkins' performance was amazing!
