BB Bronx was born and raised in the Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic. By age 8, the now teen sensation began free styling. Before he hit 12 years of age, he had already moved to the tough streets of Bronx, NY. Once he reached 12, however, he was composing his own music songs.

“At the time, I didn't know how to approach doing music,” the humble kid said. “But then a bit later on I got a manager, and we started doing things more seriously.”

BB Bronx is now 15 years old. During the last three years, he and his manager have managed to embark on a professional journey within this respective industry. How many people do you know that could say they’ve shared the same experiences as BB Bronx? No one perhaps.

This is why BB Bronx’s story is so unique and inspiring. More than anything, this is why it’s a must that audiences around the globe, not only within the U.S. or even Los Angeles, get to know BB Bronx. This kid is for real – a true legend in the making. Remember that!

Being bilingual is difficult in its own terms. And rapping in two languages can prove to be beyond arduous. BB Bronx acknowledges that.

“It's a bit difficult to do it in English, to be honest,” he said with no hesitation. “I'm Dominican and come from a Dominican family. So after these four years of living in New York, I've learned the language, but not well enough for it to come naturally to me. But it's a work in progress and I'm constantly learning more and more.”

BB Bronx is not only a student of music, but also a true successful student of academia. He confesses that school does come first for him. Currently, he sports a 3.66 GPA.

“School starts around 7:40 a.m. and it lets out around 4 p.m. That's the time students are sent home,” he said. “However, whenever I have a lot of work to do, I prefer to stay at school…then when I finish homework, about three hours later, I head over to the studio. And I'll be there until around 12-1 a.m. and it's difficult sometimes.”

He added, “There are times you have exams, etc. And that requires more attention to do work regarding school, and I do that. School comes first, then music. My grades are good: 4 As and 2 Bs. So as hard as it's been, I feel I've found a stable balance from which to go forward.”

BB Bronx loves urban sounds. His favorite singer-songwriter is reggaeton superstar Farruko, a rapper whom he’s personally met and exchange dialogue with. He did say, however, that he’s had other inspirations other than just mainstream music acts like Farruko.

“Where I'm from, and the sacrifices my mother made so that I could be what I am today,” he said, citing they’ve served as motivational tools to spark his career in the early going. “I come from a poor neighborhood, where all you saw were things like crime, drugs, etc. So nothing to do with what I'm up to now, and at first no one believed in me. So I'm also inspired by the fact that I'm the only good thing to come out of that neighborhood.”

Currently, BB Bronx is in the ninth grade. He doesn’t know much about colleges, but does admit that he would want to be a music engineer one day if not rapping. And if attending college one day, he’d rather it be in his current hometown.

In his spare time and sporadically at school, BB Bronx “loves” playing basketball, baseball and football. After all, he is still a kid.

BB Bronx’s undeniable talent has landed him a sponsor – a great one, too, in Monster Headphones.

“It's a brand that produces these headphones,” he said. “They send them to me because they sponsor me, and I really like them. I like how they look and all the colors they come in. I like how they fit and how they feel, and they sound great.”
