This is a modern take on Jimmy Eat World. Yes, that’s really possible. Take those hooky songs and let them grow up a bit and mature into something more substantial and you get the Trophy Fire. First off, the production on this album is fantastic. The clarity of the guitars is amazing. You can hear everything, and the arrangement of these songs allows you to really hear music and not just some straight-ahead rock.

Lyrically, the band explores a lot of familiar territory as of late with most bands, but the special attention to the emphasis in a lot of these songs brings an honesty to what’s being said. Hopefully we will get more from this band, but with their singer also playing with Dredg, that might not be in the cards for long while.
