If you live in Los Angeles and you drive, then you’ve experienced torturous traffic. Driving at 8 a.m. or 5 p.m. without carpool is dreadful, but a new program called Lyft is hoping to change that.

Lyft, a San-Francisco-made program, is a ride-sharing service that utilizes a mobile app that allows people to find drivers in their area who will shuttle them for a fee. The fee is cheaper than a taxi, and the drivers have gone through an extensive safety process.
