For many L.A. residents, summertime means one thing: it’s time to head to the beach!

However, before you dive into SoCal’s not-so-crystal-clear waters, take note that the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has released its annual report of the best and worst beaches in the U.S. - Avalon Beach (L.A. County), Doheny State Beach (Orange County) and Poche Beach (Orange County) were listed as some of the most contaminated beaches. This means that their waters might have high levels of bacteria, viruses or parasites that can cause diseases.
