Scott Warren’s Quick Fix Bandage is charged with easygoing and sprightly harmonica and mandolin accompaniment, as well as rustic vocals. This fusion between interesting and uncommon instruments like the hammond, dobro, pedal steel and wurlitzer, the rural tones of Warren’s voice and the out-of-the-ordinary sound should have left me intrigued, yet these cheerful and chipper tracks did not capture my attention. They simply blended into the background.

On the other hand, the more somber songs like “Don’t Tell Me” and “Sister Golden Hair” instantly captivated me. The vocal harmonies, the heartwrenching violin, the musical builds, the honest and insightful lyrics: This is what truly made the album worthwhile.

Grade: B

Quick Fix Bandage is currently available.
