If it's morning, the aroma will be that of the Silverlake omelet: a concoction of Italian turkey sausage, fresh Roma tomatoes, avocado, jack cheese and a dollop of homemade salsa. It's a meal worthy of all the carefully weaving in and out of traffic it took to cross the street.
Once safely in the Coffee Table, you are free to consume with the regulars within the cozy often times quiet interior, but if you're more inclined to need your own space, then dine in the front or back patio. There you'll be able to just sit down and eat, text with your blackberry, work on your laptop and read a few chapters of that novel you've been meaning to read. This multi-task philosophy associated with most of the everyday patrons is a perfect complement to the multi item menu highlighted on the big board in front of the cashier.
The classic standbys are all here. Salads run the wide varieties of chicken, chopped to Asian. Sandwiches are traditional. The BLT is accented with pieces of avocado, a nice addition to the already solid balance of bacon, lettuce and tomato. With such heavy dinner entrees as Grilled Moroccan Chicken and Seared Cajun Salmon, the distinction of most famous is not bestowed upon either meal, but rather the Turkey Burger.
The ingredients that make up this hearty patty are a secret but the results are undoubtedly a success, cooked medium-well every bite down to the last morsel of hush-hush turkey is as good as the first. Feeling the need to upgrade? Then, try the Golden Gate Burger. It's the same turkey patty but here you'll have it on a sweet bed of caramelized red onions, all on sourdough bread.
