Mumford & Sons

Now, I know I’ve spoken a lot about British bands doing it better, and whatnot, but really, come on now. If there was one thing that American rock had laid claim to in terms of being vastly superior to our U.K. counterparts, it was certainly indie-folk. Folk is just … it’s our thing, OK? Like, I’m totally into this whole Mumford & Sons thing, but … do you have to be British? Your accents aren’t that strong, can we just pretend you’re natives to our country? If people get wind of how legit these guys and the rest of their native contemporaries are, we’re totally done. If you take indie-folk away from us, then what do we even have left that’s superior? Teen actress pop stars? That’s like saying one’s own country has the best biological weaponry. Not really something to be proud of, you know? - Brien Overly
