The Pen is Mightier Than the Tsunami
New Rose Ensemble playwriting marathon will benefit young earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. Six speedy and ambitious playwrights will each be handed two props and the names of two actors and a director at 9am on Sunday. They will have only four hours to incorporate it all into six ten-minute plays. Just as their completed scripts roll off the printer at 1pm, the actors and directors will arrive to block and learn their parts. After only four hours of rehearsal and a one-hour technical rehearsal, the shows will be
ready for a live performance before an audience at 8pm that evening.
