Free Screening of The Rum Diary: LA

The movie is set in the 1930s through the 1950s with Johnny Depp playing Paul Kemp, a struggling writer and alcoholic living in San Juan. Also a divorcee, Kemp's life seems to have gone down the drain. He works for a local newspaper that is coming close to being nonexistant, and he has started experimenting with drugs. Somewhere along the way, he meets Bob, who introduces him to the idea of a hotel development scheme, and Kemp decides to get involved. Also starring Amber Heard and Aaron Eckhart.
