What’s Happening in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics @ Staples Center
The second half the season has now begun and the
Lakers deserve a B+ mid-season grade. No one in their right minds
would've thought the Lakers would be 30-24 this season. Proving the
skeptics wrong the Lakers have huddled together around the brilliant
play of Kobe Bryant and expert coaching of Phil Jackson. And even
though they've hit the skids in their last few games, they look to
rebound against the woeful Boston Celtics who've had a disaster of a
season and look to be on their way to an early summer. Staples Center
is located at 1111 South Figueroa St in Los Angeles. For more
information, visit www.lakers.com.

Golden Dragon Parade & Festival @ Chinatown

in Downtown Los Angeles since 1898 1898. Saturday's event looks to
bring more than 50,000 spectators to Chinatown's North Broadway where a
parade of marching bands, elaborate floats, community groups, celebrity
grand marshals, television personalities, politicians and painted
dragons will hit the city streets. Also enjoy the myriad of music,
dance, magic shows, culture and most importantly food that is the
perfect complement to the parade. Golden Dragon Parade & Festival
will be held at N. Broadway and Caesar Chavez Boulevards in Los
Angeles. For more information, visit www.lagoldendragonparade.com.

My Fair Lady @
Glendale Centre Theatre
Written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe, My
Fair Lady was one of the most popular musical plays in the 1950s. The
success was astounding as its initial run in New York City lasted for
six and a half years (2,717 performances). The classic story of
phonetician Henry Higgins transforming Cockney flower girl Eliza
Doolittle into a societal lady will likely attract the same fans (new
and old) as the play begins a run at the Glendale Centre Theatre.

French Kicks @
Troubadour
In 2,000 seconds (roughly 90 minutes) you can do
many things. You can watch a classic '80s teen comedy, play a pick up
game with a group of your friends and rock out to New York City's own
French Kicks whose recent album Two Thousand is equal amounts of garage
rock/post punk that we've come to love from the lads. And while it may
take us around two thousands seconds to really come up with a good
explanation as to what post punk is all about, throw it out the window
when you head over to the Troubadour Wednesday night. The Troubadour is
located at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. For more
information, visit www.troubadour.com.
