Bill Owens: Suburbia @ Moca Gallery at Pacific Design Center
A new exhibit at the MOCA Gallery at Pacific Design Center looks at an essential piece of Americana—the suburbs. Photojournalist Bill Owens captured the right setting and mood of what the suburbs were all about, the photos chronicled in Owens’ 1973 book Suburbia. Rwanda: After Darfu @ Skirball Cultural Center
Ending Oct.1, this black and white photo exhibition chronicles photographer Michal Ronnen Safdie’s travels in the Central African countries of Rwanda and Chad. Documenting refugees and Rwandan gacaca tribunals, the exhibition looks at the cruelties of violence done by individuals and government.
