EVENT: KNOTT'S SCARY FARM HALLOWEEN HAUNT
@ Knott's Berry Farm
Beware: Because the Halloween Haunt is so real and scary! Every October since 1973, Knott's Berry Farm has transformed into a theme park of ghoulish fright: Knott's Scary Farm.
What makes the park so creepy is the more than 600 live monsters, ghouls and freaks that lurk in every dark corner and alley just to shock and scare. There are also elaborate walk- and ride-through mazes, live shows with sinister themes and terrifying scare zones that offer face-to-face encounters with monstrous beasts. Don't miss 'The Hanging,' a yearly satirical re-enactment of the Salem witch trials, complete with special effects. The popular show has "sacrificed" more than 1,500 celebrities since its debut, including TV's Sinister Seymour, Wolfman Jack and Elvira.

Knott's Berry Farm is located at For more info visit www.knotts.com

MUSIC: NINE INCH NAILS/QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE
@ Hollywood Bowl
The return of NIN after such a long absence is a blessing to fans of intelligent electronic music who have eagerly anticipated the chance to see Reznor do what he does best on stage. The dark and moody undertones of his music are infectiously siren-like, drawing the listener in to see what is just below the surface of the tunes, which are layered like a tall black wedding cake. Miss this show and you risk eternal damnation.

The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood. For more info, visit or www.nin.com

EXHIBITION: LEVSHA
Ongoing @ Museum of JurrasicTechnology
If there was ever a museum of museums, then the Museum of Jurassic Technology would most certainly be featured as an astounding specimen of an exhibit. While the museum doesn’t have changing exhibits, it constantly expands. Its newest addition is an entire second floor, which includes the Tula Tearoom offering light refreshments and the Borzoi Kabinet Theater, which screens the film at hourly intervals. The Tula Tearoom is a funeral parlor-esque area where one can pontificate on the ludicrous exhibits over cookies while a bubbling fountain offers eerie background noise – even more minatory given that we’re used to hearing the Killers in Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Levsha is equally unsettling – it’s a film about a Russian tsar’s mechanical dancing flea. Somehow, though, it all works as part of the gestalt of Los Angeles’ largest piece of art – a museum itself.

The Museum of Jurassic Technology is located at 9341 Venice Blvd., in Culver City. Museum hours: 2-8 p.m. Thu, noon-6 p.m. Fri, Sat and Sun. Price: (Suggested donations) adults $5, children 12-21 $3, students $3. For more information, call (310) 836-6131 or visit www.mjt.org.
