L.A. WEEKLY DETOUR FESTIVAL @ Main St. and 1st St. in Downtown L.A.
Let’s see here…Beck, Queens of the Stone Age and Basement Jaxx. Hyperventilating yet? Well add in some Peeping Tom, Blonde Redhead and !!! and you’ll get there…trust me. This seems to be the year of the music festival, and the upcoming LA Weekly Detour Festival looks to be one of the finest what with its jam packed lineup. Everyone’s favorite scientologist Beck will most likely get all the attention but you’ll be surprised with such sets from indie rockers Of Montreal and the hip- hop styling’s of Blackalicious. CLERKS/CLERKS II @ New Beverly Cinema
They’re back! It’s been more than 10 years since we’ve last seen the angry discourse about all things Star Wars courtesy of our New Jersey brethren Dante and Randall. They returned with a vengeance but this time not in their regular convenience store or video store. That got burned down but it doesn’t matter as the two still dish the diss to all customers at Mooby’s, a fast food restaurant where pretty much anything goes. Add in some Rosario Dawson, an infamous animal show and yes… Silent Bob and Jay and it’ll be a laugh riot from all the gross out humor that we’ve come to expect from Kevin Smith. Plus enjoy what started this whole Silent Bob universe with Clerks. New Beverly Cinema is located at 7165 West Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. For more information visit http: //
