But that was all shattered when frontwoman Bianca Blowtorch was killed in a tragic automobile accident after a show in New Orleans in 2001.
Filmmaker Anthony Scapia, who followed the girls for two years, filming their life on the road, captured the band's early beginnings all the way up to its unexpected and untimely end. Through exclusive interviews and vintage live footage, Betty Blowtorch and Her Amazing True Life Adventures pays tribute to her life, but d oesn't back off from showing the ugly side of the relationships, addictions, or tragedy that ensued.
Bianca's childhood molestation, drug addiction and how music became her key to recovery are all capsulated in this gut-wrenching documentary. With the powerful execution of the DVD, you can't really help but feel an immense loss, as if you knew Bianca personally, and after seeing her life unfold, most will wish they did.
The DVD also includes a where are they now featurette, deleted scenes, directors interview and a eulogy from Bianca's father, which proves to be the hardest part to sit through.
