With sleek camera work blended with the concert’s video and lighting effects, this DVD takes the viewer for a concert ride that proves that after four decades in music, Bowie’s still got it. Singing former hits such as "Fame" and "Under Pressure" with the passion of an artist singing his songs for the first time, he clearly puts on a performance that doesn’t disappoint.
On the flip side, however, the set includes most of his songs off 2003’s
Reality, which seemingly floundered in the face of Bowie’s career highlights.
Songs such as "The Loneliest Guy" and "Never Get Old" didn’t
hold a candle to classics such as "Rebel Rebel" or the strangely eclectic
"Ashes to Ashes," although the sold-out crowd did have arms swaying
and hands clapping to Bowie’s newer tune, "All the Young Dudes."
DVD extras include a jukebox option where you can program your favorite concert
video tracks, along with a complete Bowie discography from 1969’s Space Oddity
to 2003’s Reality.
Closing the set with a modern rendition of "Ziggy Stardust," Bowie proves to fans that he really hasn’t ch-ch-changed that much from his glory days.
