Paid Freelance Writer/Campus Correspondent (UCLA):

Campus Circle newspaper is looking for an ambitious, creative and outgoing student to write and take photos for short news stories and columns about UCLA for each print issue, as well as blog for our website throughout the week.
 
As an UCLA on-campus freelance reporter for Campus Circle, you will have two deadlines each month where you are required to turn in editorial content and photos to the editor-in-chief. Stories will pertain to UCLA campus life, including Fashion, Lifestyle, Dining, Music, Sports and more!
 
Duties include:
-Writing 2-3 short stories every two weeks to run in Campus Circle newspaper
-Taking photos for each story
-Contributing at least four blogs a week to the website
-Pitching ideas to the editor-in-chief
 
Requirements:
-Must attend UCLA
-Experience working at a paper or website OR have taken journalism reporting classes
-Journalism majors preferred
-Previous internship experience preferred but not required
-Basic photography skills
-Strong grammar skills
-AP Style knowledge
 
*A stipend will be provided!

You’ll get the chance to see FREE movies before they even hit theaters, attend FREE concerts by your favorite bands and see FREE theater productions on some of L.A.’s biggest stages and much, much more. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to INTERVIEW your favorite bands, musicians, actors, fashion designers, chefs, etc.

Are you an aspiring journalist looking for opportunities to grow your resume?
Campus Circle newspaper is seeking arts and culture-savvy college interns with an enthusiasm for writing to contribute content about the topics they are most passionate about. At Campus Circle, interns are treated as writers and will have the unique opportunity to build their portfolios with clips published in a professional outlet (print media as well as online). You’ll get the chance to see FREE movies before they even hit theaters, attend FREE concerts by your favorite bands and see FREE theater productions on some of L.A.’s biggest stages and much more. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to INTERVIEW your favorite bands, musicians, actors, fashion designers, chefs, etc.  This is not an answering the phone/filing internship - this is a hands on internship.
