There are a few song performance pieces tucked into this documentary, but Below the Belt is not a concert film. Instead this is a nice souvenir, a snapshot in time put together for the group’s growing legion of loyal fans.

The film begins with members introducing themselves and speaking for a few minutes about their background and how they eventually came to be in Hellyeah. There’s quite a bit for them to say, as the band is a “supergroup” of sorts whose members come from other heavy bands like Mudvayne and Nothingface.

Hellyeah’s drummer is Vinnie Paul of Pantera and Damageplan fame, and much reverence of him is on display throughout the film, especially when the band is seen getting ready to record at Chasin’ Jason Studios, the studio built by Paul’s late brother, Dimebag Darrel. Other footage tracks the band at their record release party and on the road having fun with a non-stop parade of girls and head banging hellions.

Extras include the videos for “Alcohaulin’ Ass” and “You Wouldn’t Know” along with an interview segment with Mistress Juliya.
