It is kind of a pun to refer to Tad as a “heavy” group since their frontman Tad Doyle was and is a very large man. The band helped create the grunge scene, but the consensus is that their bombastic, “heavy” style put them in a completely different category from other Seattle-based bands like their pals Nirvana.

This presentation is not a concert film; it is a documentary that tracks the group from formation through to what individual members are doing today. Appearing in interview snippets are Krist Novoselic and Chad Channing of Nirvana and Kim Thayil of Soundgarden. The owners of Sub Pop Records recount funny stories about putting out Tad’s God’s Balls album, and to an extent this film also tells the Sub Pop story.
