Not having seen the Clash live in concert may be the bane of having been born too late – but blighted young’uns are about to have their wishes come true, because The Clash: Revolution Rock gives you front row seats to some of the best shows “The Only Band That Matters” gave.

With 67 minutes of up close and personal concert footage and two interviews with ABC and “The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder,” you see Joe Strummer’s hiccup lyrics through his lopsided snarl; Mick Jones swagger and stumble across stage; Paul Simonon look gorgeous and graceful plucking his bass; and lots of bad dentistry.

The years between 1977 and 1983 see the Clash rise from clubs and theaters to stadiums and arenas. Though perennial favorite “Rock the Casbah” is strangely absent, “This is Radio Clash” hits the climax, with Strummer crooning into his mic like it’s his love song to a dying world. Thirty years later, their music still sounds epic and unparalleled to this day.
