In a city where the people are talented and celebrities are abundant, this night shined brighter that usual. I Heart presented the Million Dollar Revival: A Benefit for Fran Drescher’s Cancer Shmancer Movement. Hosted by Drescher, this eclectic evening rang true to old variety shows and helped raise funding for the fight against women’s cancers.

The program featured Olivia Newton-John, the Bird and the Bee, singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman, actress/comedian Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up, Paper Heart) and special guest Rosie O’Donnell. The performances were amazing and the messages they carried were memorable. Stilt World, an amazing duo on – you guessed it – stilts, opened each half of the evening. Glittery costumes, roller blades and upbeat music made their routine something to remember.

One of the best acts of the night came from the multitalented Newton-John. A cancer survivor herself, she came out to a full audience who greeted her with cheers. Belting out a heart-touching number, her song was full of love and hope.

Proceeds from the benefit support Cancer Shmancer’s commitment to the Inner Images Fran Van Project. The Fran Van provides medical information, cancer screening tests and free follow-up care to low income, uninsured women throughout the L.A. area.
