Compliments to the Band of Horses for another album that’s much like your favorite drink – you don’t ever tire of it. With their third album, Infinite Arms, Band of Horses sketch Midwestern skies, deserts that go on for miles and memories in their fresh new lyrics. The melodies are very soothing, genuine and light. The songs themselves are catchy and great for the 100-plus lazy summer Sundays that lie ahead.

Ben Bridwell’s distinctive, tender twang, which is reminiscent of the Shins’ James Mercer, blends in perfectly with the alternative-bordering-on-country songs seamlessly. This album sounds good through and through, but when it comes down to the crème de la crème, here are the tracks that you should give a listen to: “Infinite Arms,” “Evening Kitchen,” “On My Way Back Home,” “Laredo,” “NW Apt” and “Blue Beard.”

Band of Horses has come a long way. They’ve matured, are musically better and once again have delivered an album that will not disappoint. If you like Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes and the Shins, then Infinite Arms is the next album that you should, without a doubt, get your hands on stat.
