Wintertime is great for ambience, but not so great when you can’t feel your toes. Enter: Volt heated slippers!

Whether you’re curling up with a hefty novel for a long winter night, enjoying a brisk walk outdoors or taking a trip up to Mammoth for some skiing, Volt’s indoor/outdoor slippers will keep you toasty while your friends are stamping their feet and complaining.

The Volt runs on two 3.7v Lithium-Ion battery packs, which plug into the shoe and rest inside a little pouch on the side. The battery packs are small enough where you really don’t even notice them. The slippers themselves are quite comfortable with rubber soles made from recyclable materials, a nylon exterior (with 640g insulation) and, of course, their cushiony, heated insole.

An interior thermostat regulates the shoes’ temperature. Although a manual control might be a nice feature, it’s not really necessary. If things get too warm, you can switch off the batteries with a simple one-push button. Battery power lasts about two to three hours and is about twice that to charge. A well thought-out wall charger is included with dual connectors and LEDs that let you know when the charge is complete.

For the cold-of-feet, these slippers are a godsend. You might just want to invest in an extra set of batteries for those extra chilly nights.

The slippers are available in five colors: Black, Fashion Black, Orchid, Pacific Blue and Pearl. The sizes run small so check the website’s sizing guide when ordering (www.3volt.net).
