The Lost Patrol at times was a troupe of up to 20 musicians wailing away with five guitar players. Now these Swedish cats are known as the Lost Patrol Band, their leader having pared the group down to himself and five others. Frontman Dennis Lyxzen, from the (International) Noise Conspiracy, kept two of the guitarists. Most of the guys also sing, which gives the band a lot of versatility in crafting its pop songs. The band’s European flavor comes through on each song, but clearly the Lost Patrol Band loves the sunny sounds that have forever been the hallmark of Southern California, ranging from the neo-psychedelic "A Girl like You" to the perky dance of "Pick Me Up." And you can just picture the band up to its knees in surf playing the album’s closer, "Can’t Stand the Quiet."
