For the love of God and all that is holy, please let this be a gross rumor or the product of an isolated bad day! Roy Choi, founder of the beloved Kogi truck and owner of notable brick and mortar restaurants around L.A., posted a heated social criticism on his blog yesterday. He stated, “I’ve been thinking about leaving cooking for awhile. I can’t find meaning anymore.”

I am deeply saddened by the possibility that someone once so passionate about food could lose his grasp on the meaning of cooking. He also stopped eating meat last week because, “Animals be talking to me. They told me..stop. Stop, Roy. Please.”

I really hope that was the result of a bad trip, because for my sake and the sake of the massive cult following of Choi’s culinary creations, Roy Choi simply can’t quit doing something that he has such a gift for.
