Untitled Document Cafes are popular for a good reason: They attract businessmen, students and socialites looking for a relaxing or productive way to spend their leisure time. And let’s face it, Starbucks is a much cooler place to be on a Saturday afternoon than the local library. However, the Coffee Bean scene has been missing something Creative City Café has brilliantly found – a networking system that promotes action and not just a bunch of lunchtime talk.

Celebrating its grand opening Oct. 15, Creative City is a new café focusing its attention on the needs of dedicated writers looking to find their next gig or investment partner. Patrons won’t be denied a full menu of traditional coffeehouse favorites like lattés and sandwiches, but this café is one of the first in Los Angeles to dish up a non-edible selection featuring a networking system that connects directly to studios interested in employing writers, the advice of script consultants and the representation of literary agents. The bulletin boards posted throughout the café will cater to creativity featuring the inside scoop writers need to get their feet in the industry’s door.

Creative City also houses its own resource library that will be regularly updated with donated scripts, Associated Press handbooks and many other professional items that will provide guidance in areas such as screenwriting, journalism and editing – making Creative City no less than a laidback writers convention and roundtable available seven days a week.

Information is everywhere and even chatting with the staff (which is made up of people who were required to write essays that displayed their experience with both writing and espresso) could lead customers to their next freelance project, permanent job or inspirational book. But if you just want to kick back and surf the Web, you don’t have to go running off to Starbucks to get free wireless service – Creative City is an Internet hot-spot hub, too.

Of course, job searching and employee hunting in Los Angeles is never easy, especially for artistic professions like writing, but the connections available at Creative City Café’s stress-free environment may make your business-related goals a lot easier to reach.
