With $110 million in pretax earnings, Dr. Dre is this year's top earner within the hip-hop industry. Beats By Dr. Dre, which now sells more than half of the country's premium headphones ($100 and up), is the main reason why this Los Angeles-based rapper has grossed a lot of money. He unseats Jay-Z, who was first last year and third this  year at $38 million. Diddy ranks No. 2 with $45 million, thanks mostly to a share of profits from Diageo's Ciroc vodka.
