Los Angeles is known for its culture and diversity.  Art exhibitions have become an increasing trend, attracting people of all ages, and every weekend holds must-see art events. Two exhibitions worth seeing are both taking place on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Topanga Canyon’s Gallery’s newest offering ““My Trees Talking,” featuring artist Karrie Ross, goes from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., then you’ll still have time to make your way to Trunk Gallery in Venice for new works with Michael Temple and Moris Tepper.

Ross out-does herself with intricate pen and ink works showcasing whimsical trees, each with their own endearing personality.

Her new series “My Trees Talking,” was developed in conjunction with her book,
“My Trees Talking,” And they are Speaking Haiku!” that partners 80 (of the 100) charming pen & ink tree drawings with a haiku.

The book along with the original drawings matted with a select few framed; a 60 by 48 painting, two tabletop assemblage “tree” sculptures and a variety of smaller paintings will be in the exhibition.

The “My Trees Talking” opening will take place at Topanga Canyon Gallery, Pine Tree Circle, 120 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. suite 109 in Topanga.

Then back in Venice, artists Temple and Tepper will be celebrated with an opening reception at Trunk Gallery. The two artists recently painted the front of Trunk Gallery for their upcoming opening and art party.

Temple is perhaps best known as Mike Tempo, the percussionist of the popular band the Bonedaddys. Temple has had a great time collaborating with longtime friend and artist/musician, Tepper.

The opening reception takes place from 7:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. at Trunk Gallery, located at 12818 Venice Blvd. The show will feature new works, by both artists such as paintings, prints sculpture and more. Refreshments will also be served. Cairo Cowboy, a mobile mom and pop Mediterranean cuisine food truck will also be part of the event. Stop into their new restaurant at 46 Windward Ave. in Venice Beach.
