This week the FDA approved an university vending machine that dispenses Plan B for students. Shippensburg University came under fire last year when its contraceptive vending machine made national news, sparking backlash from conservative groups who cited that the unregulated nature of the machine would allow minors to access the drug. After meeting with university officials, the FDA has decided to take no action against the campus initiative, although the vending machine is now equipped with an ID reader to limit access to students who are over the age of 17.
