With singers Fritz Helder and Starving Yet Full on board, Azari & III (Dinamo Azari and Alixander III) offer here a selection of favorite remixes of their past efforts.
Everything is most definitely house music geared to packing the dance floor, but since these are remixes, there’s a liberal use of effects throughout. On the Maceo Plex remix of “Manic,” the vocals sound like they’re being sung by a robot with a seriously upset stomach. Appended synch riffs swoosh and gurgle so much as if Alka Seltzer was coming to the rescue. The disco shuffle of “Manhooker (Locked Groove’s Escape to NYC Remix)” uses a collage of blurry synth scratches to make a sound like a frantic yet unintelligible whisper. Other tunes such as Tiga’s What Iz House Muzik Remix of “Reckless (With Your Love)” rely more on traditional remix embellishments like very heavy bass vibrations. Remix Album also includes Azari & III songs re-jiggered by Jori Hulkkonen, Konrad Black, Nicolas Jaar, Prince Language and others.
