Behold, the HANDeBand – it’s a detachable handgrip that quickly attaches to your cell phone.
How does it work? First, you remove the green cover, which reveals an adhesive surface. Then, just stick the HANDeBand to your smartphone (or tablet or eReader), and you’re ready to go.
The HANDeBand is supposed to keep your hands free to roam and complete other tasks. It is also supposed to keep you from dropping your phone. It definitely succeeds at the latter—it took me nearly three minutes to remove it from my phone.
However, instead of making life easier, the HANDeBAND gives you more work to do after you use it. When you're done using the HANDeBand, you have to take it off your phone, clean your phone to get rid of the smudges and then clean off the HANDeBand if it has lost its adhesiveness.
It should be noted, though, that you can avoid the sticky mess by not removing the base at all. In other words, the "band" portion of the HANDeBand can actually detach from the base, leaving the base by itself on the back of our cell.
Overall, with its bulky feel and messy clean up, the HANDeBand is more of a novelty than an everyday product.
