It’s inconceivable that two years have passed since Peter White released Glow, an album screaming of fatherhood and a fresh start, at the dawn of his baby girl’s adoption. Yet in Confidential, White is revealing his content manly side, still in denial of the worldwide recognition he’s attained as an uplifting, award-winning guitarist.

White calls upon his past experience on keyboards and accordion in Confidential, such as on "Coast Road Drive." White also includes Christopher Cross (Grammy-winning artist best known for "Sailing" in 1979), the smooth vocalist on "She’s In Love," one of the disc’s only two lyrical tracks.

Paulinho Da Costa offers delicate percussion on three songs mentioning "love" (a word never used in White’s titles in his past nine solo albums), one of which, "Talkin’ Bout Love," has been tops on the charts for weeks. Chris Botti and Mindi Abair add dynamic horn to a couple of songs, while Brian Culbertson does triple duty as pianist, keyboardist and producer on the title song. Kudos go to co-producer Paul Brown for his invaluable contributions.
