The iconic anti-apartheid and ex-South African president remains hospitalized and in critical condition for a lung infection that has been plaguing him since June 8. Members of the Mandela family have been keeping watch over his bedside and conducting prayer vigils in the leader’s honor, while many South Africans wait for news of his health. It's been reported that Mandela is expected to pass soon, but his condition will not affect President Obama’s visit to the country later this week.
