Going away for college requires preparation, especially when it comes to your health. You're an adult, living away from home for probably the first time, and it's important to figure out what kind of health plan you should be on.
For example, you may want to consider adopting the health care plan your college offers. Or perhaps you are dependent on your family and want to continue staying on your parents' plan (your parents might have a health insurance plan that covers all family members. If so, the law allows you to stay on that plan until you are 26 years old)? Or perhaps Medicaid is a better fit for you because it is considered a low-cost option? There are many health care plans to choose from, and you won't know which one is right for you until you do your research.
