The Norton Simon Museum is known for its amazing private art collections that include European (from the Renaissance to the 20th century), South and Southeast Asian art. On Oct. 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., college students will get the chance to see what the museum is all about by attending "College Night." During these two hours, students can indulge in a night full of FREE activities!

With a student ID card in hand, any college student can gain free admittance into the museum and participate in the numerous activities. There will be 20-minute talks on the museum’s collection and exhibitions, hands-on art-making sessions and an "All About Internships" panel discussion. See below for a full schedule of activities:

6:30–8:00 p.m. Check-in
The first 100 students to check-in will receive a FREE vintage Kandinsky poster! Kadinsky was a Russian painter who created abstract works of art. See some of his work here.

6:30–8:30 p.m. Art Making Activities
Stop by our Education Center in the lower galleries for art-making activities. Create small works using printmaking techniques or make a 3-D statement using sculptural materials.

6:45–7:15 p.m. Curator-Led Gallery Tours
Enjoy a 20-minute tour examining the Museum’s celebrated artworks. Concurrent tours include the Museum’s Old Masters, Modern, Indian and Southeast Asian collections and our current exhibitions Beyond Brancusi: The Space of Sculpture and Breaking Ground: 20th-Century Latin American Art at the Norton Simon Museum. Sign up and meet at the Information Desk. Each tour is limited to 25 participants.

7:30–8:30 p.m. Panel Discussion: All About Internships
Join working museum professionals as they discuss what they look for when considering applications, share their own internship experiences, and demonstrate how internships can play a key role in finding jobs in the museum field.
