Los Angeles philanthropists Anthony and Jeanne Pritzker are donating $15 million to the University of California, Los Angeles' Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. The funds will ultimately strengthen environmental studies by establishing up to five faculty chairs and endowing a center that will research how to make cities more sustainable. There will also be an annual $100,000 prize awarded to investors and policy-makers who advance sustainability.

The Pritzkers have also donated money to UCLA in other areas: $3 million has been donated for grants for foster care students, and $2 million has been donated to expand art programs for children and families at UCLA's Hammer Museum.
