T-Mobile is offering customers who own tablets in the U.S. 200 free megabytes worth of data per month, changing the way people use tablets.

The company is encouraging people to buy tablets with cellular data. The New York Times reports that currently, “Only 5 percent of tablets sold include a cellular connection, according to Craig Moffett, an independent telecommunications analyst.”

Customers can also get iPads and apply T-Mobile’s monthly fee to that device instead of one of T-Mobile’s products.

Jan Dawson, a telecom analyst for Ovum, says, “T-Mobile’s tablet plan is mostly relevant to business users,” according to the New York Times.

More data can be purchased if necessary.
