Rapper Rick Ross is suing EDM rapper duo LMFAO for copyright infringement.
Ross is claiming the lyric "Everyday I'm shufflin'" from LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" (2010) is a rip-off of his own "Everyday I'm hustlin'" lyric from 2006's "Hustlin'."
Ross is looking for statutory damages and wants LMFAO to refrain from using the lyric.
According to the lawsuit, "The use of 'Hustlin" in 'Party Rock Anthem' is readily apparent, despite the slight change from 'Everyday I’m hustlin'. . . 'to 'Everyday I’m shufflin'. . . " and constitutes, inter alia, the creation of an unauthorized derivative work."
