When it comes to getting the "best value" in your education, the Princeton Review lists the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as one of the best public universities for just that.

The Princeton Review states high academic standards, low tuition and ample financial aid at a college makes it a "best value" school.

Based on its 2012-13 findings, UCLA is the No. 6 "best value" public university in the U.S. The No. 1 public university is the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

As far as private universities go, Williams College, Harvard College and Swarthmore are the top three.
