You've probably experienced a 3-D movie once or twice before. You've put on the special 3-D glasses and saw a movie's characters and its setting pop out of the screen. However, have you ever experienced a 4-D film?

At a 4-D movie theater, moviegoers will actually get to feel or even smell different things as they watch the film. And if you visit Regal Cinemas at L.A. Live this summer, you'll get to try this out for yourself.

The Los Angeles Times reports a 100-seat, 4-D theater will be coming to this Downtown location. Moviegoers will experience seat vibrations, wind, strobe, fog, rain and smells that relate to the movie and action on the screen.

It is unknown how much the tickets will cost, but visitors can expect to pay a surcharge.

Although L.A. Live willl be the first to open a 4-D movie theater in DTLA, it isn't the first theater in L.A. itself to do so. Disney's El Capitan in Hollywood has shown films in 3-D as well as 4-D, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas
