It's the time of year when soon-to-be high school graduates start getting their acceptance (or rejection) letters to the colleges and universities they applied for.

Those who were accepted into USC's Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation didn't get the normal paper-in-an-envelope acceptance letter -- they received a video message from Iovine and Andre "Dr. Dre" Young themselves!

The two music heavyweights congratulated each student that was accepted into the $70-million program by filming personalized video messages.

Students accepted into this new academy, which Iovine and Young founded last year, will become creative thinkers in fields that "span the arts and industry, commerce and culture." Twenty-five students are expected to enroll this fall.

To get into the program, students had to submit a video that illustrated an original idea for an innovative product, service or system that solves a problem, addresses a need or provides an opportunity. Applicants turned in pitches that included tech products, fashion products, mobile apps and more.
