Many believe that if you go to college and major in something, that is far better than not going to college at all. After all, a college degree leads to more opportunities and money, right?

It turns out that some colleges and their respective majors can be a complete waste of time and money.

According to the Atlantic, PayScale was able to identify valuable colleges and majors "based on self-reported earnings by individuals who graduated from hundreds of schools."

On its least valuable majors list sit Humanities and English at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). According to this review, students at CSUN with these majors have a net return of negative-$143,000.
