Mother’s Day is almost here, which means you better start thinking of ways to show your mom that you care. Here are simple, yet thoughtful ways to make Mother’s Day a memorable day for the both of you.

Make Her Brunch
Taking Mom out to brunch is a great plan and all, but showing her how much of a functional adult you are might mean even more. Cooking brunch for her can do just that.

For even the most kitchen-challenged of us, a quiche is a great option. You can buy a frozen pie crust to make things even easier, and the added ingredients can be whatever you think your mom would like best.

We suggest adding caramelized onions, spinach and goat cheese to your quiche. This can easily be paired with a salad of arugula and tomatoes with a balsamic dressing.

To make the quiche, you need:
1 can of condensed milk
3 eggs
2 cups of whatever additional ingredients you want

Simply beat the eggs with the condensed milk (add salt and pepper to taste), add the additional ingredients to the pie crust, and pour the egg mixture over it.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees and make your Mamma proud! Serve with mimosas and coffee, and your mother will love you forever (not that she wouldn’t anyway).

Take Her to the Beach
Santa Monica Pier is one of the most popular beaches in Los Angeles. In just one day, you and your mom can enjoy shopping, surfing, swimming, enjoying the sun and fine dining.

First, have a nice Mother’s Day brunch. Many famous restaurants are cozy family establishments with delicious dishes. Look into Coast Beach Cafe & Bar or Blue Daisy Cafe.

After the brunch, take a walk on the beach with her, lie down under the afternoon sunshine, and give her a sweet massage by yourself.

Then, it’s time for shopping. The Santa Monica shopping mall is located just one block away from the beach. Help your mother pick out a beautiful dress at Bloomingdale's or BCBGMAXAZRIA, and match it with a pair of comfortable shoes.

Finally, nothing is better than ending the day with a cozy film (try Laemmle's on 2nd Street!) after taking her to a big dinner.

Pamper Her
When you look good, you feel good. When it comes to our mothers we want to make them feel special, almost as if they are glowing. So, why not do something any women would love? Giver her the spa treatment.

As college students, a trip to the spa is definitely out of our budgets. But on Mother’s Day, give your mother the royal spa treatment in the luxury of your own home.

Start the night off by baking together. As your delicious treats are baking, give each other facials and just talk about her wild days as a teenager. Freeman’s Avocado and Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask or Queen Helen’s Mint Julep mask will leave your faces feeling smooth and clean.

Next, give each other matching manicures and pedicures. Try out one of Essie’s newest colors “Too Tabbo,” an intense, gorgeous fuschia.

And most importantly, give her a foot massage. Try Freeman’s Barefoot Peppermint and Plum Foot Soak—add a little bit of this to a tub of water or a foot massager, and let her feet soak in it. Then, give her a massage. Nothing makes a mom feel more loved than you taking the time to give her a foot massage.

Have a Mother/Daughter (or Son) Photo Shoot
You take pictures with your best friends, club members, sorority sisters and fraternity brothers. However, having photos with your mom outshines any picture you have of you doing a keg stand at last week’s fraternity party.

So, this Mother's Day hang out with your mom in a beautiful park, take her to an exhibition or just give her a campus tour. Wherever there are flowers, adorable architectures, interesting statues or unique landscapes, just take a picture with her.

After taking the photos, you can arrange them in a photo album or (if you’re feeling really creative) a scrapbook to give to her as another gift. This is a great way for her to remember the special day you two spent together.

Write Her a Letter
In today's world, using Facebook or a cell phone to send wishes have become the most popular ways to advance personal relationships. We almost forget that there is another traditional but never obsolete way to express our love—by writing a letter.

A letter to your mom on Mother’s day is one of the best gifts to show your appreciation. The letter will showcase your unique handwriting, bringing up the bittersweet memories she has of you when she taught you how to use a pencil to write your first letter.

It can be a simple message or a poem, but use a pen rather than a computer. You can paste a photo of the two of you to the letter, or you can get a little bit creative by adding designs, colors and glitter. Just remember: she’ll love the thought behind the letter more than anything else.

Send Her a Care Package
Remember back in Freshman Year when your Mom used to send those cute care packages full of your favorite snacks? Show your mom how much you’ve grown by making one of those for her.

Fill it with her favorite little goodies and a couple of fun little trinkets from the local store. Wandering around CVS and seeing what cute items they have is generally a good idea. You know she secretly loves Cosmo? Toss one in there. She has a sweet tooth for Kit Kats? Grab a few bars.

This simple (and relatively cheap) gesture will show her how much she means to you.

Make Her a Personalized Playlist
Make mom a mix-tape, playlist or CD by actively searching for music that was played when she was younger, and make it a bizarre compilation of songs.

Or, maybe look for songs that remind you of her, mean something to the both of you, or just pick songs that relay a certain message you want to send to your mom this Mother's Day. Whatever makes your mother feel adored and cherished will work just fine.

This will be that sweet present that keeps on giving, because every time she will listen to that album or playlist, she will automatically think of you.
